Simulated patient offering.

For healthcare professionals

We provide experienced simulated patient work designed to help healthcare professionals develop confidence, communication skills, and inclusive practice when working with patients with learning disabilities.

For many years, we have partnered with leading healthcare and education organisations including St George’s University of London, King’s College London, and South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust to deliver meaningful, lived-experience-based training.

What we offer

Our simulated patient sessions give student doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals the opportunity to take part in realistic appointment scenarios with people with learning disabilities. These sessions are designed to:

  • Build confidence and communication skills
  • Develop understanding through lived experience
  • Encourage reflective and inclusive practice
  • Improve patient-centred care
  • Challenge assumptions and barriers within healthcare settings

Working alongside our trained facilitators and performers, participants experience authentic interactions that support deeper learning than traditional classroom teaching alone. Scenarios can include:

  • GP and hospital appointments
  • Annual health checks
  • Mental health assessments
  • Communication and accessibility challenges
  • Consent and decision-making conversations
  • Person-centred care approaches
